‘I was waiting for it to be 3-4’

Bernd Schuster lamented Malaga’s collapse at home to Osasuna and admitted to feeling the Pamplona side were going to take the win.

Javi Gracia’s men fought from three goals down to take a draw on Sunday evening in this Copa del Rey Round of 32 first leg meeting at La Rosaleda.

Also being achieved in spite of being reduced to 10 men at 3-2, it left Malaga’s Coach downbeat post-match.

“I was waiting for the 3-4, it was the only thing missing,” mused Schuster to reporters before commented on Malaga’s own, late red card.

“And like in the game also here against Athletic, and the red card for Camacho, I do not know what the referee has seen.

“This is very difficult to understand. I believe it is clear that we had the game in our hands, with a clear advantage.

“I believe that the advantage was deserved and that we were doing things right, but like in some previous games when in that comfortable position, we have seen the reverse too.

“Goals against us have come at speed. It is very difficult to see what we really need to win a game.

“If you win 3-0 with all the clarity in the world, I think that would give us encouragement, but we were able to get ourselves into a mess.”
