Ancelotti won’t let Ramos leave

Carlo Ancelotti has played down a reported falling out with Sergio Ramos, and has insisted that the defender won’t leave.

The defender has been linked with a switch away from Santiago Bernabeu, with reports suggesting that the Spain international could leave Real Madrid for €65m.

But the Italian Coach has claimed that he won’t be leaving, and has explained what was said between the pair when Ramos got sent off against Galatasaray on Wednesday.

“I have no problem with Sergio Ramos, and Sergio Ramos has no problem with me,” Ancelotti said ahead of Saturday’s match against Real Valladolid.

“I only told him that he had to avoid getting turned so easily; I was making a tactical point. He made a mistake, but that doesn’t change anything. It’s normal to make a mistake on the pitch.

“He’s a very important player for this team, everyone knows that. He’s fine and he’ll play tomorrow [Saturday]. He’ll do well.”

“I speak to the President a lot and he has never spoken to me about Ramos leaving the club. Everyone knows how important Ramos is

“In footballing terms, in terms of his personality and in terms of his history with this club. I don’t know their relationship. The President has a very good relationship with all the players.”

“[Would I allow Ramos to leave?] No, no, no. Because he’s one of the strongest central defenders in the world and we need to keep him.

“The other central defenders are very good. Pepe has experience and the rest are young. For the sake of the younger players, we need players with experience such as Ramos and Pepe.”

“I’m happy with the way we’re playing, with the atmosphere and with seeing all the players motivated. We haven’t had any problems with anyone.

“They all understand when I make decisions. It’s important to keep going because we’re in going well. If possible, we have to improve.”
