Reyes unhappy at Estoril draw

Jose Antonio Reyes was unhappy at Sevilla’s 1-1 Europa League draw with Estoril despite his team having qualified for the next stage.

Ruben Fernandes rescued a late point for the Portuguese outfit after Kevin Gameiro had been set up by an exquisite pass from Reyes for the game’s opening goal on seven minutes, meaning Sevilla must now fight it out with Freiburg to finish first in the group.

“We did the most important thing in qualifying but we wanted to win the game and top the group,” Reyes told reporters in the mixed zone at the Sanchez Pizjuan.

“However, the draw enabled us to qualify so we go home happy. We will head over to Freiburg looking to win the game, but a draw will be enough.

“Tonight I think we played well in the first half, although we couldn’t keep it going, but the move for the goal was nice and the main thing was it ended up in the net.

“You can produce the most wonderful piece of play in the world but if it is not a goal then it doesn’t get any recognition.

“At the end of the day what matters is the goal and, while the move was nice, Kevin [Gameiro] should get all the credit,” explained Reyes.
