Ronaldo given thumbs up for Valladolid

Cristiano Ronaldo has recovered from injury and should be ready to play against Real Valladolid this weekend, reports Marca.

The Real Madrid star sustained a muscle problem in the 5-0 win at Almeria last Saturday and was left out of the midweek Champions League fixture with Galatasaray as a precaution.

Marca claims Ronaldo did a spell of running together with a short gym session at the club’s Valdebebas training headquarters on Thursday evening, after which he told medical staff he felt no ill effects and will be available to boss Carlo Ancelotti for the Valladolid clash.

It is understood Madrid were toying with the idea of leaving Ronaldo out against La Pucela. However, it would have meant that due to a Copa del Rey suspension he would not have reappeared until the Champions League game with FC Copenhagen on December 10.
