‘Valencia game to the death’

Osasuna’s Manuel Jesús Ortiz, ‘Lolo’, has recognised next week’s League clash with Valencia as important for both sides.

Los Che will host the Pamplona outfit next Sunday only four places above them in mid-table in La Liga, following a difficult start to the season.

“We will face an opponent who will come into the game hurt for having lost to Elche,” Lolo has commented this week in anticipation of that trip out to Mestalla.

“They are not in a position in the table that they want to be in and it is clear that they will need the points, just like us, so this will be a game to the death.

“The game represents a small step for us to be calmer in the standings.

“Since I have been here, and this is already my fourth season, the team has done things best when struggling in the table.

“We get an added push, I do not know how, but we always win very difficult games when we need to stay up in the Primera Division.”
