Javi Gracia: Win restores confidence

Osasuna boss Javi Gracia believes the 1-0 win at Real Valladolid on Friday night has restored his players’ confidence.

The Pamplona club took all three points thanks to Oier’s goal six minutes from time, the midfielder getting between the home defence to head Lolo’s cross over Diego Marino.

It settled a drab encounter in which Osasuna entered the match without a recognised striker, although Gracia considered the outcome justified his decision.

“This result reinforces the mood and confidence of the team. We made more chances than Valladolid and I think we deserved to win.

“We didn’t play with a natural centre-forward because we were trying to counter-attack at speed. It worked out well,” he told reporters.
