Bale: Best is yet to come

Gareth Bale has promised that ‘the best is yet to come’ as he confirms there is room for him to improve at Real Madrid having ‘just finished my preseason’.

The Welshman has seen his start to life in the Spanish capital disrupted by fitness concerns caused predominantly by a missed preseason this summer.

Put through a specific programme during the October international break, the player has joined up with Wales for the November break having managed a run of appearances for Los Blancos.

Even so, for the 24-year-old, the feeling is that there is more to come.

“The best is yet to come. I have just finished my preseason and I can still give more,” Bale has told Real Madrid’s in-house television channel, in an interview conducted before his departure to join up with Wales.

“Now I can score more goals and help the team achieve success. It was only a matter of time to be 100 per cent.

“Now everyone sees what I can do. I need to keep working and hopefully there will be more goals.

“Playing with Cristiano? He is amazing, he scores hat-tricks every week. It is a pleasure to play with him.”
