Oier Sanjurjo says that Osasuna will look to take advantage of Real Sociedad’s midweek struggles when facing them at the weekend.

La Real saw a 2-0 lead at Real Valladolid slip, with the home side only failing to record a 3-2 win in the end thanks to Patrick Ebert’s late missed penalty.

For Oier, whose Osasuna moved out of the relegation zone last night with a win against Rayo Vallecano, the trip to Anoeta is difficult, but holds opportunity.

“I’m no fortune teller, but I hope that we will be able to get something,” the 27-year-old considered to reporters this week.

“In Anoeta it will cost us a lot to even pick up the one point. Let’s see if we can get a result this Saturday.

“Real could have lost yesterday [away to Real Valladolid yesterday] and that will have hurt them. It may be a factor in our favour.

“It’s a good opportunity to keep adding points. We hope to get to winter with a substantial sum of points.”

The midfielder scored his first career goal during yesterday’s win, after more than 100 appearances.

“In the end it comes to the point of obsessing a little bit, because even in the reserves, in the Segunda B, I had not had the capacity to score.

“In Vigo yes I did score two, but they were own goals.”
