Juan Ignacio Martinez praised his Real Valladolid players, despite the fact they lost 4-1 to Barcelona on Saturday evening.
Javi Guerra had given the Pucela the lead at Camp Nou, but a double from Alexis and a goal apiece for Xavi and Neymar gave the Blaugrana all three points.
“We put in a big effort,” JIM told a Press conference. “In all aspects of the game we worked hard.
“The equaliser came so soon after our goal we didn’t know what to do. And then it was 2-1 and we could not come up with an answer.
“We’ve played against some of the League’s strongest opponents – Atletico Madrid, Villarreal and Barcelona. We’ve been caught out there.
“We did well to begin with here, but football is played over 90 minutes.”
