‘Valencia must maintain attitude’

Ricardo Costa has urged his Valencia colleagues to ‘maintain their attitude’ for tonight’s Europa League clash at Kuban Krasnodar.

Los Che travel are in Russia this midweek for the second round of matches in the Europa League and on an improved run of form of late.

Those three consecutive wins in the League that the team carry into this fixture have their captain hungry for more, but cautious of what awaits.

“We are playing against a strong team,” warned Costa in his pre-game delivery.

“We want to return with the three points, we have demonstrated ourselves with three wins in a week and want to continue this streak.

“We must maintain our attitude and personality so as to add three points here.”

Whilst looking to maintain form, Costa admitted that the team may have to change their style of play, with heavy rain forecast for this evening’s match.

“If it is the same climate as in previous days then it will not be possible to play great football, you cannot play with two or three touches.

“But we have international players, we are prepared and we can adapt, change the style of play.

“If not much rain falls then it will be a very nice game, but otherwise it may be complicated and we will have to play differently, with a more direct style.”
