Montenegro or Slovakia for Sevilla

Sevilla will face a trip to either Montenegro or Slovakia, after the draw for Europa League third qualifying round was held.

Today’s draw for the penultimate qualifying round to gain entry into the group stages of the competition was conducted, with Sevilla seeded in pot three.

Unai Emery’s team have been drawn against the winner of the second qualifying round match between Mladost Podgorica of Montenegro and FK Senica of Slovakia.

Senica have the slight advantage going into the second leg of their tie, having recorded a 2-2 draw away to Mladost. The second leg is held on July 25.

The two-legged fixtures for the third qualifying round will be played on August 1 and August 8, with winners then entering August 9’s draw for the play-off round.

Sevilla are in the draw having finished ninth in the Primera Division last season, benefiting from Malaga’s confirmed and Rayo Vallecano’s all-but-confirmed bans from European competition for 2013-14.

The Anchovies are banned as punishment for holding debts going into last year’s Champions League, whilst Rayo are awaiting a final appeal to the Court of Arbitration for Sport for having been refused a UEFA licence for being in administration and holding debt.
