Valencia boss Miroslav Djukic is set to return to former club Real Valladolid for defender Antonio Rukavina.

Djukic begins his new job as Valencia Coach today but has already indicated his intentions to the club’s hierarchy regarding signings, including making a move for Rukavina.

Reports in the Spanish Press claim Los Che have already been in contact with Valladolid by phone to ask about the Serbian international’s situation at the Jose Zorrilla, although a formal offer for the 29-year-old is yet to be made.

Fellow Serb Djukic was impressed with his countryman’s form in La Primera last term and sees him as the ideal player to give Joao Perreira competition for the right-back spot at Mestalla.

Rukavina was signed by Valladolid before the start of the 2012-13 campaign following his release by 1860 Munich after three years with the Bundesliga outfit.

He has previously played for Partizan Belgrade and Borussia Dortmund, having started his career as a youngster at FK Bezanija in his native country.
