Illarra wants Madrid by July 11

Real Sociedad’s Asier Illarramendi is reported as open to a move to Real Madrid and a transfer could be completed in a matter of days.

The Under-21 international has been increasingly linked with Los Blancos as their next summer acquisition, and it is believed that club President Florentino Perez has now communicated interest to La Real officials.

AS say that Illarramendi has reciprocated with his openness to the transfer and it is believed that Madrid are now negotiating on the player’s price.

Where La Real are pushing for the 23-year-old’s €30m buyout clause to be paid in full, the capital side are reportedly open to funding that amount, but not the VAT on the deal as well, which would equate to around €5m extra.

It is understood that Illarramendi has requested that negotiations are concluded by Thursday July 11, when he is due to return to training, so as to avoid a drawn out saga.

Madrid are understood to have lined up Sevilla’s Geoffrey Kondogbia as a plan B, should talks with Real Sociedad fall through.
