Arrasate: I’m ready for La Real

Jagoba Arrasate has outlined his self-confidence and pride in having been handed the Real Sociedad bench.

After impressing club officials with work at youth level and then last season as an assistant Coach under Philippe Montanier, Arrasate was confirmed yesterday as the French Coach’s replacement.

Whilst this presents the 35-year-old with his first taste of Primera Division work as a first team Coach, he has today looked to put to bed any doubts that may raise.

“I am proud to be trainer of the first team. I want to thank the club for the opportunity,” Arrasate began in his first Press conference as Coach today.

“On this special day, I reflect on all the Coaches here and all those I have worked with over the years…

“I fully understand that some have doubts, but I have all the confidence in the world in me, in my work and in my ability.

“I knew that the possibility was there, it was not a surprise to me, the President and sporting director had spoken with me before.

“I am qualified, I know the Primera Division from my experience alongside Montanier. I know the methodology of work, whilst from there every Coach has his own book, and I too, of course.

“I will bring in my ideas for the benefit of Real Sociedad. I am a man of this club and I want to continue this project that began a couple of seasons ago and has reached a very high level.

“The first thing I realised is the huge responsibility that comes with being Coach of La Real, but since I have taken it with ease and now I am thinking only of preseason planning and work for the next year.”
