‘Valladolid can win at Camp Nou’

Miroslav Djukic has promised Real Valladolid’s full focus to the end of the season and says they have hope heading out to Barcelona this Sunday.

Valladolid will be the visitors to the Camp Nou in Week 36, when Barca are presented with the Primera Division trophy, having wrapped up the League title.

Despite his side also having achieved their season objective of survival last weekend, the visitors’ Coach expects a competitive meeting with the Catalans.

“We are certainly more relaxed in the dressing room after achieving the goal, but the intensity in training has still been the same because we understand the importance of ending the season on a high,” Djukic told reporters pre-match.

“In football you have to do away with the good feelings, we have three games left and it is very important to finish well because that is what is in the heads of the players and the fans.

“Barca? Both they and us have met our objectives for the season but I have never played in a quiet game, I think that this is a good opportunity to see how we compare with the best in Spain.

“We can win with our style and we are confident we can win at the Camp Nou, but we know it is very difficult because they want to celebrate the title.

“They will want to win because they are the champions and we’ll go out on to the pitch with the same mentality as always too.”

Speculation continues to surround Djukic’s future, with Valencia said to be considering a move in the summer if they lose Ernesto Valverde.

“I will not discuss my future until the season ends. I’m planning for next season, but first we must finish this season well and I will not answer this question [about the future] until we finish.”
