Vazquez expects Depor to push

Fernando Vazquez says Deportivo head out to Real Valladolid for three points, in a stage of the season where they must push.

Despite an unbeaten run of seven games, Depor slipped back into the relegation zone last weekend following a third consecutive draw.

Heading out to Real Valladolid this weekend, they are one place and one point behind Real Zaragoza and Osasuna in safety.

“I expect a tough match, tense and tactical. I think the first goal can be decisive,” commented Vazquez in anticipation.

“There will be nerves and it may not be a spectacular match, but the group is impressive mentally and strong emotionally. We are prepared to win at Valladolid.

“I do not know if it will be decisive, but it will be key. We have to push because we are in the final sprint.

“Valladolid are a solvent team, organised and well run, it shows who is behind them. I do not think they will struggle to stay up, but I guess they will want to settle in the table soon so as not to be nervous in the last games.”
