Real Madrid defender Pepe has hit out at Coach Jose Mourinho, claiming Iker Casillas 'deserves more respect'.
The Spain international has been a perennial substitute in the second half of the season, with the tactician admitting earlier this week that he would have signed Diego Lopez earlier if he had the chance.
But the Portuguese centre-back has criticised the boss for his stance.
“The gaffer's statements weren't appropriate. Iker is a legend, both at this club and in Spain,” he told reporters.
“He needs to know that the fans and us are on his side.
“We're relaxed [about Mourinho's future]. The coach needs to sort it out with the club.
“We are playing for the shirt.”
