Aitor Karanka has insisted that Real Madrid will focus on the remaining League games and the Copa del Rey final.

Los Blancos beat Real Valladolid 4-3 on Saturday evening, and the assistant has claimed that his team did well, whilst also commenting on quotes attributed to Pepe – who spoke out against Jose Mourinho, saying that goalkeeper Iker Casillas 'deserved respect'.

“I haven’t heard what he said and if he said that, at no point has anyone been disrespected in the three years we’ve been working here and to disrespect one player would be to disrespect all twenty-five players,” he told a Press conference.

We have always chosen the 11 players we think will win. Status doesn’t play a part here. A lack of respect would have been to not select a player that is playing well in favour of another.

There is no lack of respect.

“It’s the same discussion as always. What we will do tomorrow is analyse who we played and start to prepare for Wednesday [against Malaga].

With regards to everything that is said, the manager has shown how he is respected everywhere. No one can doubt the work that we do and now we have to think about Wednesday’s match and give our best performance.”
