‘Real game decisive for Valencia’

Valencia midfielder Juan Bernat has emphasised that Los Che’s weekend meeting with Real Sociedad “will be very decisive ahead of next season.”

Valencia head up to Anoeta in Week 33 two points and a place behind La Real in the standings, with the hosts currently occupying the fourth and final Champions League qualification spot with six games to go.

“We know that Real are playing very well and are in a very positive dynamic,” reflected Bernat to reporters today.

“It was important for us to win against Malaga, because we needed it, and now we must prepare for the next game, which will be very difficult and which will be very decisive ahead of next season.”

The Spanish youngster, capped at youth level, featured in the weekend’s 5-1 demolition of Malaga.

“I wanted to play again and the truth is that I am very happy.

“I’ve returned to earn minutes and the team has been very good, very strong, and we achieved an important victory against Malaga, a direct rival.”
