Montanier values Real point

Philippe Montanier reflected on Real Sociedad’s difficulty in facing Osasuna and put worth in the fact they came away from Pamplona with a point.

La Real conceded most of the possession to their hosts on Sunday evening, but created a handful of chances too, in this ultimately goalless draw.

“We have been closer to winning than to losing with our clear chances, but it is hard to score points in this field. It is a point and to earn points is important,” reflected Montanier post-match.

“We lacked a bit of accuracy in attack and also a little luck. But it is true that we ended the game well and we have now managed to score four points on the road from the last two games. Not bad.

“We did not change the way we played. It is very difficult to play a passing game, though, because there is much pressure from the opponent.

“But we know that we must do everything in modern football. The fight requires it all. Every time we have been able to attack, we have. But it’s hard. No-one's will has been lacking.”
