Jose Luis Mendilibar looked on the positive side for Osasuna’s goalless draw with Real Sociedad, valuing the point picked up.
The Pamplona outfit hosted Champions League chasing Real on Sunday evening in this eventual 0-0 result.
“We scored one point against a tough team coming into this on the back of some good results and who were a great danger to us,” reflected Mendilibar post-match.
“If we had won then we could have opened up a gap to the dropzone but when you lose you are dreaming of the single point. When you tie, you want the win.
“We controlled the game more so than La Real, but they generally created more danger in attack. We lacked that shot that we can usually produce in a counter-attack.
“The feeling is that we did not have what was needed to finish this off.”
