Alexis apologises to Valladolid

Getafe defender Alexis has apologised to Real Valladolid fans for spitting at them during the weekend’s game.

The centre-back was sent off midway through the second half and on his way back to the dressing room he spat towards a section of Valladolid supporters.

With it included in the referee’s post-match report, the 27-year-old risks being handed a four-game suspension from the Spanish Football Federation (RFEF) when their Competition Committee meet on Wednesday.

“I want to apologise to the Valladolid fans for my attitude towards them,” the player told reporters this week.

“It was an unpleasant situation for me and I apologise wholeheartedly, because it is not the attitude that we must have as sportsmen.”
