‘No-one gave Valladolid a chance’

Miroslav Djukic praised his Real Valladolid players despite their 2-1 defeat to Valencia on Sunday evening.

Los Che ran out winners on the night thanks to a late Jonas goal, but Djukic maintained focus on the bigger picture.

“Nobody gave this team anything at the beginning of the season,” reflected the Coach post match.

“We were the top candidate to drop down and now we are nine points clear.

“In addition, our survival can be played for at home and we can achieve it.”

The Coach was less than impressed, though, with the officiating, when Valencia took a throw-in during the final stages that appeared to have been first awarded to Valladolid.

“Everything has gone to ruin from a bad decision from the referee.

“The throw was very clearly in our favour, the referee told us to substitute quickly and the defender [with the ball] walked away from edge of play, then a Valencia player caught it and took the throw.”
