Real Madrid will splash out this summer looking for a long-term replacement for Xabi Alonso.
Marca have reported today that the midfielder will stay at Santiago Bernabeu for another 'two or three years', but will dip into the transfer market at the end of the season to find his successor.
The main candidates according to the paper are Borussia Dormund's Ilkay Gundogan, Ruben Pardo of Real Sociedad, Sevilla youngster Geoffrey Kondogbia and Paris Saint-Germain starlet Marco Verratti.
All the players are under 22 years old, and are deemed to be some of the most promising in Europe.
