Miroslav Djukic has offered his backing to Patrick Ebert to put recent controversy aside and commit to Real Valladolid until at least the summer.

The German was caught meeting with Atletico Madrid sporting director Jose Luiz Perez Caminero last week, much to the ire of his club.

However, his Coach has offered his support, stating his belief in the midfielder’s professionalism.

“Ebert is a good professional and we do not know what will happen at the end of the season,” Djukic told reporters today.

“But surely up until the end he will do good things for the team and continue fighting for it.”

the Coach was asked of the season so far for Valladolid. The team are without a win in four.

“Overall I am happy with the team’s performance. What bothers me is when we do something silly, like give away the ball, but I cannot reproach my players, they give everything and work.

“We are a small team that will not get 10 opportunities every game, we will have two or three at most. So those kind of errors are the ones that bother me.”

“There are nine weeks left and those teams below us have to get four more wins than us. We have a margin.

“But I believe that if they win four games more and Valladolid do not, then we will not deserve to stay in this League.

Valladolid face Valencia this weekend.

“They are in good form and have quality on the wings, Roberto Soldado up front provides much verticality and in midfield they have many creative players.”
