Piazon: Next two games crucial

Lucas Piazon is clear that Malaga’s upcoming fixtures with Rayo Vallecano and Real Sociedad carry significant bearing.

Malaga head into the League double header, after the international break, having slipped three points and two places behind La Real in fourth, whilst Rayo are breathing down their necks just a further three points and three positions below.

“Our next two matches are crucial, beginning with Rayo and then Real Sociedad,” Piazon told reporters today.

“Both encounters will be difficult but we’ve got every chance of bringing the three points home from each game.

“I didn’t play well at all last weekend, I started off poorly and lost my confidence as the match went on.

“These two weeks will allow us to recuperate to ensure we’re in the best possible shape for the next game, and I hope to perform much better.

“The international break? I think we need time off to relax, it’s important with such a heavy schedule.  We’ve got two days off from training to unwind and spend time with family, which is great.”

The youngster then cast his eye to Malaga’s Champions League quarter-final opponents Borussia Dortmund.

“I saw the goals from their last game, and their comeback from 0-1 to 5-1. Borussia have had a fantastic first stage of the Champions League, and are in second position in the Bundesliga.

“It’ll be a very tough game.”
