‘Muniain bottled it’ over Osasuna

Former Osasuna defender and captain Cesar Cruchaga has accused Iker Muniain of deliberately getting booked last weekend, so as to skip facing Los Rojillos.

Muniain picked up a fifth yellow card of the season last weekend and subsequently is suspended for Athletic Bilbao’s trip to Pamplona for Basque clash with Osasuna.

According to Cruchaga, who spent 13 years in Osasuna’s first team, the winger deliberately got himself banned, out of fear of making the trip.

“Muniain bottled it, he deliberately got the fifth yellow card as he did not want to come to Pamplona,” Cruchaga told Cadena Ser de Pamplona this week.

“He’s a bottler, he is a very little man. It’s amazing what he did last weekend. You can see it from a mile away. Anyone who knows football can see that he would have forced that fifth yellow.

“And then he started to complain about it, because he bottled it and didn’t want to come to Pamplona.

“Well, if you don’t want to come to Pamplona, get the fifth yellow, but then shut up, don’t try to put it on the referee.”
