Montanier set for new Real deal

Philippe Montanier’s response to early-season criticism is seen as likely to earn him a new contract at Real Sociedad.

The Frenchman is currently out of contract at Anoeta this June, but has reportedly impressed enough in recent months to convince the board to offer him a new deal, even if at this stage the length is unspecified.

Marca report today that Montanier’s work in responding to early season criticism, as well as the turnaround in results, is the reason for the change in heart.

Rumoured to be on the verge of the sack in the early stages of the campaign, Montanier is seen now as on the verge of having contract extension talks with the club opened.

Reason for the turnaround is explained as more than just about the results that now see the club pushing for European qualification.

Montanier’s extended and intensified training routines, settlement on a preferred starting line-up and his greater flexibility in substitutions are seen as the three key areas he has improved in, as the club reportedly had intended him to.
