JIM warns Levante of comeback

Juan Ignacio Martinez has warned his Levante players that they will have to ‘suffer for 90 minutes’ in order to progress past Olympiacos.

Los Granotes are in Greece today for the second leg of their Round of 32 clash against former Sevilla boss Michel’s new team, with a healthy 3-0 lead to defend.

For Martinez, though, the game is still a pitfall that his team cannot slip into, with progression to the Last 16 far from guaranteed.

“We will play 90 minutes suffering, hoping to progress to the next round,” declared JIM at his pre-match Press conference.

“Both the team and fans are going to give everything because we know that it is a difficult game and we will need to be together.

“The players are experienced enough to know of the dangers Olympiacos represent. We are aware of the potential in attack that they have, and with the adverse first leg to overcome, they will be even more offensive.

“We will have to be very vigilant defensively and take our chances on the counter-attack.

“Olympiacos are a team that are difficult to play at home. The element of surprise will be difficult.”
