Iker Muniain has been dealt a blow with the news that he faces the next few weeks out injured with a strained knee ligament.
The tricky winger sustained the injury during Athletic Bilbao’s 4-0 home defeat to Espanyol and tests have since revealed the full damage.
The Under-21 international is now facing a number of weeks on the sidelines with the grade I strain in his right knee.
Confirming the news in a brief statement on their official website, Athletic made clear that the player has to keep the joint immobilised for the coming days before beginning physical therapy and functional rehabilitation.
