Jose Luis Marti has determined that Mallorca’s players must take responsibility for Joaquin Caparros’ departure and push on now with Gregorio Manzano.
Manzano was brought back for a third spell at the club after Caparros left the side 19th in the table, with only six points collected from the last 51 available.
“Whenever there is a coaching change it is difficult, especially because it means that the dynamics of the team and their work is not being rewarded in the outcome of games,” began veteran Marti to reporters this week.
“However, the results have made this situation and, although it is not easy, life goes on. We must do our best to get out from where we are.
“We cannot look back, with Manzano we can only look forward. I believe that we have the desire as a group and we must think only of achieving the final goal, which is League survival.
“We are the ones on the pitch, we are responsible for not getting the points that we have needed. From here, we have no choice but to keep working with the same dynamic, but try to change the results.”
