Manzano: I know this Mallorca

Gregorio Manzano has this afternoon been presented to the Press as Mallorca Coach for the third time in his career.

The 56-year-old, who has twice previously worked at the Iberostar Stadium, has agreed to return for a third stint to replace the departed Joaquin Caparros.

“I know the club and some of the staff, I know the challenge. We have a commitment to save the team and thereafter continue for another year,” Manzano confirmed to reporters today.

“The return is to a club that for me has been everything from a professional aspect, not only in time spent here, but also for the affection, the games and the experiences, when the possibility of a return came up, so did the memory of six years ago. You never know where this profession will take you. It could have been anywhere else, but I feel very proud.

“You know I want what is best for Mallorca and the fans. This is my home, I have experienced many things here, good and bad.

“Changes to the team since I’ve been gone? I have knowledge of this team, there are players who have worked under me, but they must be analysed as a whole. We need the players to be at 120 per cent.

“This team has the quality and commitment to continue in the Primera Division.”
