Cesc on Copa, Clasicos & Valdes

Barcelona midfielder Cesc Fabregas has admitted that his teammates are not thinking past Thursday's quarter-final against Malaga.

The Blaugrana drew 2-2 with the Andalusian side in the first-leg, but the Spain international has claimed that they are not looking at a possible semi-final clash with Real Madrid.

“Everyone may be thinking about another Clasico,” he told a Press conference. “But not us.

“Obviously, the more great games like that, the better. But first we have to play Malaga – we have not won the game yet.

“They will be a tough test for us. It is the small things that will make the difference against a good tram like Malaga.”

He also commented on the news that Victor Valdes will not be renewing his contract at the club and remarked on their first loss of the season to Real Sociedad last Saturday.

“Valdes has made his decision, and we should leave it at that,” the 25-year-old added. “He has made up his mind, and has given the club enough time to look for a replacement.

“We have had two negative results in a row, but we have the opportunity against Malaga to turn that around.

“The fans are always behind us – in the good times and the bad. It impossible to win every game. Slip-ups like this can happen.”
