Roberto Soldado will miss the third match between Valencia and Real Madrid this midweek with a thigh strain.

The striker was substituted just after the hour mark of Los Che’s 5-0 home defeat to Madrid on Sunday evening with it only becoming clear post-match that it was for an injury.

Tests carried out today have revealed that Soldado has damaged his right quadricep muscle and that he will certainly miss the midweek return of Los Blancos to Mestalla.

Valencia face Madrid for the third game in a row, welcoming back their rivals this Wednesday for the second leg of their Copa del Rey quarter-final, 2-0 down from the first leg played in the capital last midweek.
