Jimenez: Tie is uncertain

Manolo Jimenez is uncertain for how Real Zaragoza’s quarter-final with Sevilla will resolve, following a goalless first leg.

The two teams’ 0-0 result played out on Wednesday evening at La Romareda has left things very much in the balance, according to the home team’s Coach.

“This result means that the outcome of the tie remains uncertain,” commented Jimenez post-match.

“The game could have finished in our favour, with the two chances in the second half that fell to Postiga. We were also better in the second half than in the first, where there had been too much fear and control, whilst in the second half both teams pushed much.

“It was hotly contested, even and a little bright, with great respect and control, where the defences have imposed themselves on both sides.

“I’m very happy for not conceding a goal in our field, but in their field they will be more dangerous and we will have to show them the proper respect.”
