Caparros hopes for better New Year

Joaquin Caparros hopes his Mallorca side will forget about the first half of the season as they look for their fifth win of the campaign against Real Valladolid.

The Islanders travel to the Pucela on Saturday looking for the three points that will take them up to 15th position in the table.

And the 57-year-old Coach hopes that his men will not dwell on the first 18 games.

“We cannot be happy with the first half of the season,” he told a Press conference.

“But in football, all that matters is the points total at the end of the campaign.

“We have to train hard and look forward, not back. We have the quality to do well and I am optimistic.

“Hopefully we can start a good run against Real Valladolid. They are a team that works well and plays some nice stuff, but we can get the points.”
