Iturra: Eibar are dangerous

Malaga midfielder Manuel Iturra has warned his teammates not to fall into the same trap Athletic Bilbao did when they face Eibar.

The Segunda Division B outfit shocked Athletic in the Last 32 by holding them to a 1-1 second leg draw at San Mames and thereby progressing on away goals.

Malaga welcome the minnows to La Rosaleda for the second leg of their Last 16 clash tomorrow, with the score sat at 1-1.

“We must be cautious against all rivals, as there is no easy match,” the Chilean remarked in front of assembled media. “Just look at Cacereno in the last round. Without intensity it is going to be an uphill challenge.

“They came to face Athletic Bilbao, and played very well at a tough ground. They play very well on the counter attack, it’s one of their greatest virtues.”

Los Boquerones need a pick me up after falling to a surprise 1-0 defeat to Deportivo La Coruna.

“The Deportivo game is past,” Iturra continued. “We have to focus and try to continue to progress in three competitions. We must turn the page.”

Coach Manuel Pellegrini has opted to rest some key men for the game, leaving Isco, Joaquin, Eliseu, Roque Santa Cruz and Ignacio Camacho out of his squad. Jeremy Toulalan is included on his return from injury.
