Casillas thanks fans after award

Real Madrid goalkeeper Iker Casillas has thanked the club's supporters after he was voted the world's best shot-stopper.

The Spain captain was voted No.1 by the International Federation of Football History and Statistics for the fifth time yesterday.

And the 31-year-old has taken to his Facebook page to thank the Madrid supporters.

“I am very pleased with this award,” he posed on the social networking site. “And once again, I want to dedicate it to all the fans.”

Casillas has been under the media spotlight recently having been dropped by Jose Mourinho during Los Blancos' 3-2 loss at Malaga before the Christmas break.
