Madrid buy back Carvajal?

Real Madrid have reportedly wasted no time in exercising a clause to repurchase Spanish Under-21 international full-back Dani Carvajal.

The 20-year-old left the Santiago Bernabeu this summer to join Bayer Leverkusen for a fee believed to be set between €5m and €6m.

However, inserted into the deal was a clause that allowed Los Blancos to buy back the youngster at any stage during the next three years.

With their issues in providing cover for Marcelo, Alvaro Arbeloa and Fabio Coentrao in the wake of injury and suspension hitting the trio in various forms, both full-back positions  have reportedly been identified as positions to reinforce in the market.

El Confidencial believe that Madrid have acted quickly and opted to bring back the young right-back Carvajal next summer, exercising their buyback clause with an €8m fee.

Carvajal’s brief stint so far in the Bundesliga has seen him hold down a regular first-team place in Sami Hyypia’s team and earn plaudits for his performances.
