Nsue happy for Falcao absence

Mallorca’s Emilio Nsue is buoyed that Mallorca’s first test of 2013 will come against an Atletico Madrid team without Radamel Falcao.

The Colombian striker, who has been in notable form this season with 17 goals from 17 appearances in the League already, is suspended for Atleti’s Week 18 trip to the Iberostar Stadium a week today after picking up five yellow cards.

“Falcao’s absence will be good for us, because he is a great player, we know what he can do,” commented midfielder Nsue to reporters today, as Mallorca returned to training.

“Even so, Simeone’s team is always very strong. Atletico are this.

“The six days off for Christmas have been enough for us, as players we care and we are optimistic heading into this game.

“The game is vital for us. Having won against Betis in Seville, we have to make good that victory by defeating Atletico now.

“We need to string together some consecutive wins. If we do, we can repair our relationship with the fans, we will restore confidence and become better. Certainly.”
