‘Valladolid lacked attacking ambition’

Miroslav Djukic is pleased to see Real Valladolid pick up another point away from home, albeit if he felt the team lacked attacking ambition.

Valladolid played out a 0-0 scoreline with Deportivo on Monday night to maintain eighth place in the table.

“The team has worked well, they have done a good job overall defensively and we missed some ambition offensively,” mused former defender Djukic to reporters.

“Our opponent also pressed us, we were worn out in the final few minutes and I am happy with the players’ work. This is a difficult field and to pick up points away from home is important.”

Djukic was then asked to look forward to Week 17’s closing fixture of 2012 for Valladolid, at home to Barcelona on Saturday.

“A balanced team does not care who they are playing at home. We will play the same way forever, with our game premise, our philosophy that has given us 22 points so far.

“We all know this will be hard, but we’ll see where we are against the best team in the world. It is a good test for everyone to enjoy and to see what level we are at.”
