Sevilla ready for relaunch

Sevilla boss Michel believes ‘it’s time’ for the club to make their assault on the Champions League places.

Los Nervionenses have been inconsistent in recent weeks, slipping to 11th, six points short of their top four target, but ahead of tomorrow night’s game against Malaga Michel is confident.

“We trust each other to finish in the Champions League spots,” declared the former Getafe tactician. “It’s time to take the step because we are not that far, which is good. Walking distance. Victory tomorrow would relaunch us and leave us in a very good position at the end of the year.”

“I hope we can, for myself and the fans. Our ideas are clear and we’re trying to have maximum concentration.”

The former Real Madrid player laughed off the idea he could be a candidate for the Merengues bench if Jose Mourinho leaves.

“My work and my head is here, because there is not truth in these things. What happens later, you never know, but my mind is 100 per cent in Seville. Anyone who knows me even a little knows that.”
