Real Madrid defender Marcelo has been given the go-ahead to accelerate his recovery by the doctor that operated on him.
The Brazilian left back fractured the fifth metatarsal in his right foot in October, and was subsequently operated on by the renowned Dr Van Dijk in Amsterdam.
Van Dijk has travelled to Madrid in recent days to evaluate his patient, and the review proved positive.
According to Marca Marcelo could return to first team action by late January. In the meantime he will continue working in the gym and pool and undergoing physiotherapy sessions.
