Atletico Madrid boss Diego Simeone was disappointed with his team's attacking display after their 2-0 defeat to city-rivals Real Madrid.

Cristiano Ronaldo scored a first half free kick, before Mesut Ozil completed the scoring midway through the second half to give Los Blancos victory.

And the Argentina Coach admitted that his team were sound in defence but lacked penetration up front.

“In the first half both teams were fairly quiet,” he told a Press conference. “There were no real goalscoring chances, but they managed to score with a free kick and we could not.

“In the second half it was really more of the same – we could not grow offensively and that lead to us losing the game.

“Until the goal, I think my team did well – we just could not move forward in attack. There were very few chances.

“The difference was that they took theirs and we didn't.”
