Mourinho too busy to ponder awards

Jose Mourinho has admitted that he has no time to think about the FIFA Coach of the Year award he has been nominated for.

The Portuguese tactician is up for the prestigious award alongside Pep Guardiola and Vicente Del Bosque, but is focusing purely on the Madrid derby with Atletico on Saturday evening.

“I have no time to think about awards,” he told a Press conference. “It is a good question for Guardiola, who is on vacation, and Del Bosque, who has three months off.

“But for me, I have three games in a week – I have no time to think about that.”

He then went on to comment on the match with Diego Simeone's side and the recent fan reaction to the club's poor performances.

“I want the fans to support Real Madrid and to help us win the game,” he said. “If they want to whistle, then let them – I have been in football many years, it doesn't affect me.

“Atletico are winning game and are looking good for a Champions League place. But we expect to win and I believe no one will be disappointed.”
