Michel encouraged by Sevilla

Sevilla’s work in dispatching Espanyol 3-0 at Cornella-El Prat has encouraged Coach Michel, who hopes for more of the same in the League.

Los Rojiblancos ran out comfortable winners on Wednesday night to record an aggregate 6-1 win over the Catalans for a place in the Last 16 of the Copa del Rey.

“The work in the first half from the team has been encouraging, wins are always good for us, whichever competition they come in,” enthused the Coach after the game.

“The team did a good job, we pressed high up the pitch and practiced some good collective football. We also kept a keen eye on their counter-attacks.

“Hopefully when we return to Cornella in La Liga we will continue in the same way.”

Sevilla will be back at the ground 10 days from now for a League meeting. Last night, Michel featured injury-prone winger Diego Perotti in the win.

“He is a fundamental player for us, he has a lot of character and pushes the others. Meanwhile, Baba also had a good game. Strikers live off goals, but apart from that he did well.”
