Chelsea turn attention to Benzema

Chelsea could make a January move for Real Madrid striker Karim Benzema, according to reports in the Spanish Press.

The Premier League club have been rumoured to be interested in Atletico Madrid man Radamel Falcao, but AS are claiming that they could turn their interest to the French forward.

The Colombian goalscorer has previously stated that he would not be willing to leave the Rojiblancos during the winter break, and that could be a stumbling block for the west London club.

As a result, Rafa Benitez's men may look to the former Lyon man to halt their attacking woes following the poor form of Fernando Torres.

Benzema has played 11 times in La Liga so far this season, scoring three goals. The 24-year-old has two and a half year remaining on his current contract at the club, but a bid of around €35m could be enough to prize him away from Santiago Bernabeu.
