Mourinho’s heart ‘with Inter’

Jose Mourinho has told Portuguese television that he is still attached to former club Inter and explained why he left them for Real Madrid in 2010.

The Coach, who is enduring a difficult third season with Los Blancos in 2012-13, moved to the Santiago Bernabeu in the summer of 2010, after two years with the Nerazzurri and a historic treble-winning 2009-10 campaign.

Speaking this week, the 49-year-old explained why he left and how he still misses the San Siro outfit.

“Real offered me the bench for the third time,” he expressed on TVI.

“My friends told me that there would always be something missing if I had not gone to Madrid.

“I left because if you win with Real Madrid then you make history. However, my heart remains Nerazzurro.

“Nobody has given me the same sort of happiness that Inter have. I cried on more than one occasion when I left. My heart is in Milan, I have an ever-present nostalgia for Inter.

“Inter are a family and I will always belong to that family. I celebrate when Inter win and I suffer when they lose.”
