Juanfran: Leave Levante alone!

Levante defender Juanfran has defended his side from accusations that they didn’t try hard enough against Barcelona.

The Granotes performance in their 4-0 loss to Barcelona last night has in some quarters been compared unfavourably to the one they produced in their 2-1 defeat to Real Madrid two weeks ago.

“Everyone can think what they want,” the former Celta Vigo man remarked at a Press conference today. “But what is clear is that Barcelona do not give you the option to kick them, with their possession and pressing and two touches. People should leave us alone.

“In the first 45 minutes we were very good. In the second half we did not play with the same intensity and things went downhill very quickly.

“We have to focus on the next game, we cannot stop to think,” the 36-year-old continued. “This season Levante are doing better than last year. We have moved to the next round of the Europa League and in the League we have a good points tally.”
