Atletico Madrid defender Diego Godin has claimed that colleague Radamel Falcao is a better player than Real Madrid’s Cristiano Ronaldo.
The comments, made to FIFA.com when discussing Ballon d’Or voting, are bound to prove inflammatory with the season’s first Madrid derby just five days away.
“When compared to Lionel Messi and Falcao, Cristiano is the slightly more predictable player of the three. His game is more based on strength and power. He has a great shot and is good in the air but right now I think Messi and Falcao are one step ahead.”
Messi, Ronaldo and Falcao top the La Liga scoring charts this season with 19, 12 and 11 goals respectively.
